Toilet Talks Campaign

In an innovative approach to reach local communities with crucial health messaging, the Franklin County Prevention has introduced the "Toilet Talks" campaign.

The initiative places prevention messaging directly in the bathrooms of middle and high schools, the Winchester Swimplex, and various community locations. By placing flyers on stall doors and walls, the coalition ensures

that people encounter important information in a space they frequent daily. The campaign covers topics such as ways to say no to peer pressure, anti-drug and alcohol messaging, and mental health awareness, providing ongoing reminders to make healthier choices.

The "Toilet Talks" flyers are designed by members of the Franklin County Prevention Coalition and the FC Youth Coalition, Teens Making a New Tomorrow, emphasizing collaboration between community leaders and youth advocates. The campaign aims to engage individuals in a non-invasive yet effective way, leveraging a unique setting to promote conversations around substance abuse prevention and mental well-being.

This effort marks a creative step toward fostering a healthier community by reaching people where they least expect it but are most likely to pause and reflect.
